Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Free-For-All Book Fair really FREE?

YES! We believe that every person of every age should be able to have books of their own. Every year, we offer thousands of new and gently used books for babies, kids, teens, and adults at NO COST.

But why not just use the library?

We love our local libraries! However, library books have to be returned. We believe everyone deserves to own books that are kept at home. Research shows that when books are around, we all read more—especially kids! Our free book fair is accessible and open to all, and complements the ecosystem of book availability in our community.

Can I donate books?

YES! We welcome donations of brand new books, or gently used books that are in excellent condition and have been published/printed recently. Our public donation collections occur every October and we work with drop-off sites across the Roaring Fork Valley.

Can my business sponsor the fair?

YES! We are actively seeking local business partners who support literacy and lifelong reading in our community. We heavily promote our sponsors in marketing and at the event, and funding helps us purchase low-cost books to fill gaps in our book donations.

Who is the book fair for?

EVERYONE! All ages, all readers, no questions asked.

Where do all the free books come from?

Most of our free books are donated by community members like you! We collect thousands of donated books each year. We also buy low-cost books with funds from grantors and local business sponsors.

Can I volunteer?

YES! It takes a small army of book lovers to pull off this enormous event each year. We would love to welcome you to the fold, so please reach out via the form on our homepage!
